Date of Event Wests Cricket Club: Sun Aug 8, 2021 2:13PM

There's no bigger individual honor in a club than Life Membership and two of our finest had this bestowed upon them at the recent Annual General Meeting.

First Grade Captain James King and stalwart committee member and player Paul Williams were overwhelmed by the acknowledgment joining an exclusive 'club' of people who have shaped the past 96 years of club history.

James is the most successful First Grade Captain since the halcyon days of Ken Hill and his Premiership teams of the late 50's and 60's. Like Ken, James worked his way up the grades, has volunteered on the committee and off the field, and has proved himself to be a great people manager and inspirational leader particularly when the game is on the line.

Paul has forty years of involvement with Lambton-New Lambton and now Wests as both a player in all grades, committee member and volunteer at social functions. A keen student of the game, Paul developed a love of cricket bats and equipment and his involvement over the years with Kingsgrove Sports is no coincidence.

As for the AGM, success is built around stable leadership and we're pleased to advise that Alan Brichta (President), Mark McLachlan (Vice-President), Greg Jones (Vice-President), Ian Harborne (Treasurer), Jason Borrow (Asst. Treasurer) and Steve Petherbridge (Secretary) were elected unopposed.
